Using regulations and responsibility restrictions of Riga City Council Internet e-mail system "@eriga.lv"
1. The system and its services are available to and can be used free of charge by any resident of the Republic of Latvia or a foreign country. 2. As the system is intended for demonstration purposes, its permanent operation at any time can not be guaranteed. Full security of information being sent via the Internet is also not guaranteed. 3. Letters containing offences or insults may not be sent via this system. After receiving information about such letters and analysing whether this e-mail has been sent from our Internet e-mail service, the System Administrator will immediately close access to the e-mail account concerned. 4. The system may not be used for advertising commercial services and products. After receiving information about such advertising analysing whether this e-mail has been sent from our Internet e-mail service, the System Administrator will immediately close access to the e-mail account concerned. The user shall understand that e-mail service is not confidential. 5. The system operators reserve the right of informing by e-mail all the users about changes in the system's operation. 6. Where any of the above regulations is not met, we reserve the right to bar immediately the user concerned from access to the System. Basics of E-mail security: 1. It is important that other people do not use your e-mail account! 2. A good way of protecting your e-mail box is to do as follows: a. Never leave your computer connected to e-mail application in your absence! b. Do not allow automatic connection, either with a saved password or without it! c. Do not make your password public, i.e. do not make it known to another person! Do not write your password down! d. Change your password regularly! e. If you have forgotten your password, contact our Internet e-mail System Administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org! f. In order not to receive a virus or SPAM, give your e-mail address to reliable correspondents only. 3. Try not to use unknown or occasional computers, since the hard disk of any computer keeps COOKIES and CACHE files, which contain your private correspondence files and can be fully read after your have finished your work. Please, regularly clean COOKIES and Temporary Internet File folders! 4. Be as polite as possible when sending e-mail letters.
